Congratulations to Our 2025 BSLA First in the Family Humanist Forward Freethought Scholarship Awardees!
Although Black youth are more likely to identify as LGBTQ+, there are few safe Black queer-affirming youth spaces for middle and high school students in our communities. On December 3rd, African American LGBTQ+ youth (ages 14-18) from L.A. County are invited to participate in a fun, safe and engaging retreat focused on art, mental health and wellness, social justice leadership and musical creativity. Breakfast, lunch, raffle items and gift cards will be provided to ALL participants. The retreat will be youth-facilitated and is sponsored by the Black LGBTQI+ Parent and Caregiver Group, Women’s Leadership Project, GSA Network, Project Q, REACH L.A., the Amaad Institute and Black Skeptics.
