The National Center for Culturally Responsive Victim Services (The Center), a collaboration between Ujima, Inc. and SCESA, is hosting a series of community-based discussions across the country to be held in communities of color impacted by all forms of violence. The Center aims to give a platform for Black community members, advocates, activists, service providers, and survivors to discuss their experiences with violence, trauma, and the culturally-specific programs designed to keep communities of color safe. We will also discuss the ways that we can support the needs of survivors and the organizations that operate within communities experiencing violence. We will utilize these sessions to identify gaps in culturally-specific programming, document the needs of communities of color, and strategize the ways we can increase awareness and access to services.
